Gandhinagar: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) organised a specialised awareness and training session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) in collaboration with Billion Hearts Beating (Apollo) Foundation and Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi.
The programme aimed to raise awareness about the importance of timely CPR during cardiac emergencies and equip students, NCC cadets and staff with essential life-saving skills and the confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations. More than 250 students, NCC cadets and staff members of RRU participated in the training session. Participants received practical guidance and hands-on training on CPR and Basic Life Support, including the initial response to medical emergencies and the importance of administering timely CPR while awaiting professional medical assistance.
The session was attended by Mr. Hiren Vadhia, CSR Executive, and Dr. Nidhish Ralolia from Billion Hearts Beating (Apollo) Foundation. From RRU, Professor (Dr.) Priyanka Sharma, Dean, EDLD; Mr. Bhavanisinh Rathod, CTO, NCC; Mr. Kashyap Parmar, Administrative Officer, EDLD; and Uzair Ishaq, Drill Instructor, SNPMMB coordinated the programme.
The initiative forms part of RRU’s efforts to equip its students, NCC cadets and staff with practical skills that can be valuable during emergency situations. By promoting CPR awareness and hands-on training, the University seeks to encourage a culture of preparedness and responsible action in life-threatening situations. The programme reinforced the message that everyone can learn CPR and potentially help save a life when timely assistance is needed.
