Beijing: Marking a significant step in Vietnam–China economic relations, Sovico Group hosted an Investment Cooperation Conference in Beijing during the state visit of Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam, invited by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The event brought together nearly 200 leading Chinese enterprises, investors, and key stakeholders.
Strategic Connectivity Boosted with New Routes
At the conference, Vietjet announced five new air routes connecting Vietnam and China: Hanoi–Hangzhou, Hanoi–Enshi, Hanoi–Huangshan, Ho Chi Minh City–Guilin, and Ho Chi Minh City–Huangshan. The Hanoi–Enshi and Ho Chi Minh City–Guilin routes are already operational from early April 2026.
This expansion strengthens connectivity between major economic and tourism hubs, aligning with the Vietnam–China Tourism Cooperation Year and enhancing trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.
Over the past decade (2014–2025), Vietjet has operated 131 routes between the two nations, completing nearly 70,000 flights and serving 14.5 million passengers across 63 airports.
Major Chinese Corporations Join Hands
The conference saw participation from leading Chinese corporations including China Construction Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, COMAC, and Huawei, along with major infrastructure and transport firms.
Key cooperation areas announced include:
- Urban rail and smart infrastructure
- Logistics and supply chains
- Aviation finance and engineering
Sovico Driving Regional Growth
Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of Vietjet, emphasized the importance of long-term, trust-based partnerships in a rapidly evolving global economy. She highlighted that collaboration between Vietjet, Sovico, and Chinese partners is unlocking new economic ecosystems.
With over 35 years of development, Sovico has built a diversified portfolio spanning finance, aviation, technology, energy, and real estate. It is also a founding member of Vietnam’s International Financial Center (VIFC).

At the event, COMAC University honored Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao with the title of Distinguished Professor, recognizing her contributions to aviation and international cooperation.
