Ahmedabad: Shree Foundation organised a ‘Shrinathji Jhanki’ programme at Thakorbhai Desai Hall in Ahmedabad, where over 650 Vaishnav devotees and youth members participated in support of children suffering from Type-1 diabetes.
The event, held under the guidance of trustee Priyaben Mehta, helped raise more than ₹2 lakh for medical assistance, including insulin support, medical kits, and consultations for nearly 300 to 400 underprivileged children.
Foundation member Amit Mehta said the programme received blessings from Pujya Goswami Tilak Bawa and Pujya Bhagwat Rishiji, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere while spreading awareness about the healthcare challenges faced by children with Type-1 diabetes.
“Through this initiative, we aim to connect devotion with social responsibility and encourage more youth to participate in humanitarian causes,” he said.
The foundation also announced plans to organise similar “Dharma with Seva” initiatives every three months to extend support to more families in need.
Type-1 diabetes is a chronic condition in which the pancreas stops producing insulin, making lifelong insulin injections essential for survival. The treatment often becomes financially challenging for economically weaker families.
Organisers said the initiative was aimed not only at providing medical support, but also at inspiring the younger generation to contribute towards community welfare and social service.
