Mehsana-based company recognised among 56 shortlisted projects from 316 entries nationwide for its environmental initiatives
Mehsana : Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Private Limited has won the highest award category at the 13th Edition of the CII National Award for Environmental Best Practices 2026, earning national recognition for its environmental management initiatives and sustainable industrial infrastructure.
Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the awards programme was held on October 8–9, 2026, at Hotel Feathers in Manappakkam, Chennai. The initiative recognises industries that demonstrate measurable environmental improvements through cleaner technologies, processes and sustainable practices. This year, 316 projects were submitted from across India, of which 56 were shortlisted for evaluation.
Vihaan’s recognition highlights the role of integrated environmental infrastructure in improving resource efficiency across industrial clusters. Based in Dholasan, Mehsana, the company operates a shared utility model serving the food-processing sector through centralised wastewater treatment and common steam-generation infrastructure.
The model enables participating industries to access shared environmental and utility facilities, reducing the need for duplicated infrastructure while supporting systematic wastewater management, water recovery and efficient resource utilisation.
Phase II Expansion to Strengthen Treatment and Steam Capacity
Vihaan is expanding its facility through Phase II, which is targeted for commissioning in February 2027. The expansion will add 3 million litres per day (MLD) of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) treatment capacity and 60 tonnes per hour (TPH) of biomass-based steam-generation capacity.
Upon completion, the facility is expected to achieve a total wastewater-treatment capacity of 6 MLD and steam-generation capacity of 100 TPH. Its ZLD system is designed to recover approximately 90% of water for reuse, supporting improved water efficiency and reducing wastewater discharge.

The CII National Award for Environmental Best Practices aims to recognise effective environmental initiatives, encourage the exchange of replicable solutions and motivate industries to improve environmental performance alongside operational efficiency.
The recognition comes amid growing attention to industrial water security, pollution prevention and resource recovery as important factors in India’s manufacturing competitiveness. Shared treatment facilities and integrated utility models offer industrial clusters an approach to strengthening environmental performance while avoiding the duplication of resources at individual manufacturing units.
Vihaan Clean & Green Tech’s achievement places its environmental initiative among the projects recognised through CII’s national platform for environmental best practices.
